Stearman Aircraft Corporation was an aircraft manufacturer in Wichita, Kansas developed by Lloyd Stearman in 1927. Initially, the company was founded as Stearman Aircraft Corporation in October 1926 at Venice, California. Although the company designed a range of other aircraft, it is most known for producing the Model 75, which is commonly known simply as the "Stearman" or "Boeing Stearman".

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER. Richard Tranfield was born in 1966. His passion for aviation has seen him as a regualr vistitor to some of the most exclusive and unique collections around the world. Richard Tranfield's photographs are more than a record. They are a passionate endorsement to an age that, for many, represents everything that flying legends are all about. He has over 20,000 images in a private collection, only a few of which are exclusive to clear PROP.
