- ABOUT THE FAIREY FIREFLY
The Fairey Firefly was a British fighter of the 1920s from Fairey Aviation. It was a single-seat, single-engine biplane of mixed construction. The Firefly was a private-venture design, penned by Marcel Lobelle. It was first flown on 9 November 1925 by Norman Macmillan. The Air Ministry did not pursue the project, partly because of the American Curtiss engine used and partly because of its wooden construction and the Firefly I did not enter production.

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER. E. J. Riding spent his working life in the aviation industry. Apprenticed to A. V. Roe & Company as aircraft engineer. During the war Riding became an AID Inspector seconded to Fairey Aviation, London Aircraft Production and the de Havilland Aircraft Company; signing out Halifax bombers and Mosquitoes as airworthy. Sadly, Riding was killed in a flying accident in 1950.
PLEASE NOTE: Card versions are shown for pictorial content and reference purpose only. Each card may adjust 5-10mm or more in size but will likely be bigger not smaller. The cards are digitally printed using advanced technology machines in order to produce the most vibrant colours. All cards are wrapped in their own individual cellophance bags and then posted with their matching envelopes in a stiff, brown envelope that protects the corners and the cards themselves. We use secure postal delivery with tracking so can track where your cards are at any time and also if they have been delivered.
